Afenyo-Markin advises Minority Reporters to criticize but not to deceive Ghanaians into believing that the NDC is superior than the NPP.

No amount of propaganda from the Minority, according to Effutu Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, would make the National Democratic Congress (NDC) a better administration than the one now led by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

On Monday, July 25, the Deputy Majority Leader addressed the media in parliament and said that the Minority had misrepresented its position in calling for the resignation of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

He asserts that, although accepting criticism, the government won’t let the minority to imply that the NDC is a more capable leader than the NPP.

“Our administration of the government is not ideal in every way. We are not. It isn’t feasible. There will be errors and disappointments. You anticipate that there will be detractors throughout this era. I agree that it keeps you as a government alert. But Alexander Afenyo-Markin cautioned the NDC against giving the false impression that they are superior than the NPP in terms of administration.

The Effutu MP urged Ghanaians to have faith in President Akufo-administration Ado’s to make things better during his interaction with the media.

He dismissed demands for the Finance Minister’s resignation, stating that despite the obvious degree of ineptitude, similar requests were not made under the previous NDC administration.

“I will urge Ghanaians to maintain hope, stay focused, and have confidence in this administration. We dare question them: Did Seth Terkpeh quit if they are asking for the finance minister to resign today, personalizing politics and pushing for the finance minister to resign? Despite their ineptitude, did their ministers resign? No, since they still had faith in the group.

Alexander Afenyo-Markin emphasized, “We as a government travel through the shadow of the valley of death, but we will dread no harm.”
