Akufo-Addo fired Charles Adu Boahen Regarding the Anas exposé

Charles Adu Boahen’s position as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance has been cancelled by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, with immediate effect.

According to a statement from Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at Jubilee House, the President made the choice after learning about the accusations made against the Minister in the exposé known as “Galamsey Economy.”

After speaking with Mr. Adu Boahen, the president decided to rescind his appointment.

The Special Prosecutor has also been asked by the President to look into the situation further.

The President wished Mr. Adu Boahen luck in his future endeavors and thanked him for his strong service to his government since his appointment in 2017.

According to an investigative report by renowned journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, which has not yet been broadcast, Mr. Adu Boahen is seen soliciting an investor for a $200,000 appearance fee to set up a meeting between him and the Vice President.

Additionally, Mr. Adu Boahan is said to have advised the undercover investor to promise the Vice President that he would hire some of his relatives in order for the investment to begin paying off sooner.

However, Dr. Bawumia urged for the Minister to be immediately fired and looked into in a Facebook post.
