On September 3, the fifth FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will make its way to Accra, providing Ghanaian soccer fans the chance to see the prized trophy as it makes its first stops in all 32 FIFA World Cup qualifying nations.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola offers soccer fans to see the game’s most recognizable emblem and take in the true enchantment of the biggest, most eagerly awaited athletic event of all time, the FIFA World Cup 2022TM. Fans from all over the world will be able to witness the original, solid-gold FIFA World Cup Trophy, which FIFA awards to the squad that wins the tournament.

“This year, we’re excited to bring the iconic Original FIFA World Cup Trophy to Accra” according to Philip Boadu Assah, Senior Franchise Manager, Coca-Cola Ghana. The FIFA World CupTM Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will provide millions of people a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the most recognizable football emblem and express their love for the sport.

When the Trophy arrives at Kokota International Airport, a news conference will be held, and then the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo, will accept the Trophy. On the second day, a consumer event will also be held at the Accra Polo Court. During the two days of events in Ghana, the 1998 FIFA World Cup winner David Trezeguet, a FIFA Legend, will be with the trophy.

Beginning in May in Dubai, the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola has visited 19 nations and territories, including Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Pakistan, Lebanon, and more. The second leg of the tour, which will include stops in all of the FIFA World Cup™ 2022 qualifying countries, including Senegal, Cameroon, Tunisia, and Morocco, began on August 19 in Zurich, Switzerland.

The Original FIFA World Cup Trophy will tour 51 nations and territories over the period of 2022, putting Coca-Cola and FIFA one step closer to visiting all 211 FIFA Members across the world by 2030.

The first phase of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola was a great success, Colin SMITH, FIFA’s Chief Operating Officer, said. “The magic of the biggest football celebration on Earth engaged the larger public across the game’s new and established countries.”

“By visiting all FIFA World Cup qualifying nations for the first time, the momentum of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will continue to build, giving fans of all ages a taste of the excitement to come – and we hope they will join us in Qatar later this year for the ultimate celebration of the beautiful game.”

The Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour this year is the most environmentally friendly tour yet. At every stop, waste will be decreased for the first time, and less energy, materials, and other resources will be consumed.

Since 1976, The Coca-Cola Company has had a strong working connection with FIFA, and since 1978, it has sponsored the FIFA World CupTM as an official sponsor. Coca-Cola is a longtime sponsor of football at all levels and has placed advertisements in every FIFA World Cup stadium since 1950. The FIFA World CupTM Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola is being presented to the world for the fifth time thanks to a partnership between Coca-Cola and FIFA.
