On Thursday, August 11, former president John Dramani Mahama welcomed His Excellency Sugandh Rajaram, the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, at his office.

Personal relationships and interests were put aside during the meeting of the two prominent figures for the advancement of Ghana and India.

The 2020 NDC presidential candidate and Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, his running partner, praised the Indian government for its enormous contributions to the people of Ghana.

The Tema-Akosombo Railway, the Komenda Sugar Factory, the Elmina Fish Processing Factory, and numerous other projects the Indian government has offered to Ghana were among the projects highlighted.

In a tweet sent today, Friday, August 12, and reported by this portal, former president Mahama said that H.E. Rajaram took use of the occasion to officially inform him of the upcoming 75th anniversary commemoration of the Indiana Republic.

“I met with HE Sugandh Rajaram, High Commissioner of India to Ghana, to address matters of common concern to our two nations. In addition, he officially informed me during the visit about the 75th anniversary celebrations for India, according to Mr. Mahama.

Agro-processing and rural industries, solar energy and electricity, scholarships, urban transit, ICT, and health were among the topics of discussion between the two parties.
