From Saltpond to Cape Coast, as well as from Senya Bereku to Winneba, significant lithium resources have been found.

Additionally, the mineral has been found in Kumasi, Sunyani, Bole, and Wa.

Samuel Abu Jinapor, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, who made this announcement, said that around 30.1 million tonnes of lithium had already been found, with the Central area alone encompassing more than 684 kilometers.

After prospects showed it had a lithium deposit worth 1.48 million tonnes, the minister emphasized that the Ejasi Manku hill in the Central area.

He said that since operations started in 2017, a deposit of roughly 30.1 million tonnes of the mineral had been extracted at Enyo as of March 2022.

When he briefed Parliament on the status of lithium exploration in Ghana, Mr. Samuel Abu Jinapor revealed this.

However, he asked investors to think about working with the government on the exploration since it was a profitable venture.

Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu, meanwhile, raised concern about the generally slow rate of development in villages where mining investigations have been conducted over the years.

He advises the minister to think about staying overnight in mining settlements like Obuasi, Bibiani, and others to familiarize himself with the kind of livelihood those people have.

He therefore praised the minister for his diligent effort.
