Murder of a 27-year-old lady in Sefwi Bekwai Atwumah leads to the arrest of 3 people.

In connection with the murder of a 27-year-old woman in Sefwi Bekwai Atwumah in the Western North Region, the police have detained three (3) suspects.

The deceased, Martha Tetteh, a native of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, reportedly traveled to Sefwi Bekwai on June 27, 2022, to meet a spiritualist, according to the police.

Later, her decapitated corpse was discovered thrown in an unfinished structure in Sefwi Bekwai.

Following police inquiries into her death, the suspects—Solomon Sam, alias Paa Solo; John Nana Addai, alias Akwasi Kokoreh; and Osofo Attah, aka Prince Attah, who is said to be a spiritualist—were detained.

On July 12, 2022, in his hideaway in Bibiani, suspect Solomon Sam, alias Paa Solo, who is accused of introducing the dead to the self-styled spiritualist, was apprehended.

The culprit, a spiritualist named Osofo Attah, was taken into custody after more inquiry.

Suspect Solomon Sam was hired by suspect John Nana Addai, alias Akwasi Kokoreh, to lead the victim to Sefwi Bekwai to visit the spiritualist, according to police. “During the questioning process, suspect Osofo Attah acknowledged to being engaged in the crime,” the police said.

On July 20, 2022, John Nana Addai, the suspect, was also detained at Sefwi Atronsu.

The suspects were brought before the court on July 21, 2022, and were ordered to appear again on August 4.

The deceased’s remains has been placed to the government hospital in Bibiani for preservation and an autopsy.

The public was told by the police that “the matter would be thoroughly investigated to bring all of the culprits to justice.”
