National Cathedral: Retract and apologise for your accusations against me, or I’ll sue you, Godfred Dame told Ablakwa
Godfred Yeboah Dame, the Attorney General (AG) and Minister of Justice, is requesting that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, withdraw any claims of a conflict of interest with the National Cathedral’s continuing construction.
The MP is also being pressured by the AG to apologize for spreading untruths against him.
Godfred Yeboah Dame, according to Ablakwa, was registered as the National Cathedral Board’s secretary while acting as a board member of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), which authorized the project design contract.
It is particularly telling to note that the then-Deputy AG, Godfred Dame, was listed as Secretary when the National Cathedral was established on July 18, 2019. He was a member of the PPA board at that time, and the board authorized Adjaye’s illegitimate exclusive sourcing contract, according to Mr. Ablakwa’s Facebook post.
However, the AG considers these claims troubling since they are inaccurate. Therefore, he threatens to sue the MP until the MP retracts his offensive remarks.
According to Godfred Dame, the legislator’s blatantly false accusations have inspired the general people to make like assertions, either out of ignorance or malice.
“I see Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa’s accusations as malign and ill-intentioned for the simple reason that a quick review of the facts would have shown their falsity. In a statement, Mr. Dame stated, “I urge on the Member of Parliament to withdraw and apologize to the public for the untruth he has published about me. If he does not, I may pursue legal action against him.
